Modular fixturing for robotic welding

Robots and those who program them prefer accurate, repeatable fixturing to guarantee good parts will be made. An economical solution for a head and tail stock style robot is a single modular spine down the center with outriggers pinned and bolted off the sides where needed.

With tolerances between bores within 0.001 in. and flatness of 0.0018/12 in., the robot will have no excuses for bad parts. The adapter that attaches the beam to the robot allows the center of rotation to be adjusted to the center of gravity for enhanced performance. A combination of Bluco’s modular fixturing components and an occasional special block ensures accurate setups with maximum flexibility. It is now possible to use the term “Short Runs” and “Robots” in the same sentence.www.bluco.com
