OMAX employee named ASME fellow

Abrasive waterjet system manufacturer OMAX® Corp., Kent, Wash., has announced that Darren L. Stang, principal systems engineer, has been elevated to the grade of fellow by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in recognition of his outstanding engineering achievements.

Stang joins an elite group of 3,439 fellows out of more than 100,000 ASME members. He has more than 30 years of experience in the industry and serves as an expert in the areas of fatigue, fracture mechanics, damage tolerance, and fatigue mitigation for OMAX.

Stang’s fellowship recognizes his leadership, dedication, and promotion of high-pressure technology in the Pressure Vessel and Piping (PVP) Division of ASME and his work in the ASME Section VIII, Division 3 cCdes and Standards Committee. He has served as chairman of the High-pressure Technology Committee and currently serves on the PVP Division Executive Committee.
