Hydmech donates band saw to submarine restoration project

Hydmech, a manufacturer of metal sawing equipment in Woodstock, Ont., has donated a VCS-20VSD band saw to the Maritime Park Association in San Francisco for its restoration of the USS Pampanito, a World War II submarine and U.S. Historic Landmark. The submarine offers an immersive educational experience to thousands of students and visitors each year.

The manual vertical-column contour band saw with variable-speed drive is being used to make specialty items to reproduce parts that would have been used on the warship.
