MMP Expo Halifax keynote talks The Big Lift

Metalworking Manufacturing & Production Expo (MMP Expo) Halifax is fast approaching, and with it a keynote address from Steve Snider, general manager and CEO, Halifax Harbour Bridges (HHB).

Snider is currently overseeing the largest capital project since the opening of the MacKay Bridge in 1970 – the replacement of the suspended spans of the Macdonald Bridge. Known as The Big Lift, this significant initiative aims to extend the life of the bridge and reduce maintenance.

This includes replacing the road deck, floor beams, stiffening trusses and suspender ropes on the suspended spans of the bridge. When The Big Lift is complete, a significant amount of the bridge infrastructure will be new.

Snider will share some details of the project, its current status, as well as the successes and challenges he’s encountered along the way.

MMP Expo takes place June 7 at Dartmouth Sportsplex, 110 Wyse Road, Dartmouth, N.S. Snider’s keynote will begin promptly at 9 am, and the exposition will run until 4 pm. The event is free to attend and includes breakfast. Register today at mmpexpo.com.
