Burns has most recently served as president of TECHNI Waterjet, Lenexa, Kan., having held the position since 2007. He had started with the company as national sales manager in 2003, and became general manager in 2005. Prior to 2003, Burns’ career with Ingersoll-Rand in Farmington Hills, Mich., spanned more than 20 years. He served in various engineering, account management and sales capacities in both waterjet and kinetic automation realms, culminating as Director of Advanced Engineering, Kinetic Automation, in 2000. “I’m excited to be joining the Mitsubishi family,” says Burns. “I’ve been working in and around waterjet technology for most of my adult and professional life, and I look forward to joining a team with this reach and reputation.” Burns earned his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Michigan in 1996, and Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University in 1989. “Michael possesses a rare combination of experience and education that will allow him to come right in and hit the ground running,” says Nick Giannotte, VP of EDM, Milling, and Waterjet. “We’re happy to welcome him to the team.” www.mitsubishi-world.com
